subject Persistent little creatures...
Bedford PD has been out here four times today; and those are just the ones I know about. Their door announcements have gone from soft rap-a-tap-taps to roiled pounding.
Also Sgt. [redacted] -- the one who, pre-Sgt.days, arrested me for the so-called violation of court order -- rang my cell and left a much-too-friendly-toned hey-remember-me? voicemail requesting I contact him ASAP. I guess because they know I like/respect him, he gets to be the latest trick in their plot to hit me up with the mysterious paperwork. I think my level of esteem for him dropped by a fair 5 per cent.
"No service" was the last-heard report from the scanner.
Ducking them is turning out to be delightful. Makes me glad Deputy [redacted] didn't bother to respond to my phone call when I tried, at his request, to resolve this days ago.

They don't have to be assholes about it. :(

The unnecessary deception of Law Enforcement just kills me, ya know?

Was planning on leaving the apartment this morning at 5:30-45.
Just about to turn the lights off and head out the door when I heard the knock.
Peeped out the bedroom blinds. No police vehicles in sight. Gee, that'll fool me.
The banging on the door ceases.
A few minutes later, I peek again. See Officer so-and-so on the sidewalk. They always come in pairs; where's the other one?
The one I can see vanishes around the corner.
I wait for ever. Like, a whole ten minutes.
I get to the bottom of the steps outside and spot the back end of the patrol car by the edge of the building.
U-turn myself back up the stairs.
Dump my stuff on the floor mat and head to the bedroom. Sure enough, I can hear his engine running.
I, myself, could sneak past them, but there is no way my Camry can. You know how magicians make things like the Statue of Liberty or yachts disappear? Wouldn't it be funny if I could pull the same stunt with my Camry -- right under the noses of the lawmen? Then the stunned fellows would think they missed me and leave and I too could get the hell out of here.
I am now sitting in the living room waiting for the "no service" status to come across the scanner. Judging by the last thing I heard on it from the dispatcher as of two minutes ago, they're still out there. :D
